Gitta is a vivacious nonagenarian holocaust survivor who has long ago processed and overcome her childhood trauma, and for decades has been telling her story of recovery and forgiveness at schools. But as she retraces her steps across Europe and reconnects with families and organizations that saved her life, she finds there is always more to uncover.
Getting to witness Gitta’s story as we retraced her journey throughout Europe during WWII is something I’ll always remember. Shooting this doc on my Canon C70 and Ronin gimbal was the perfect setup for capturing verité scenes on the move.
The film is currently in festivals. June 2026: Audience award winning documentary at Dances with Films – the largest indie film festival in LA.
